Prayer Points from our Partners

CAMBODIA

Our partner’s business is largely grounded in tourism, so it has been especially hard hit by the virus. Pray for God’s provision in this community. Pray for the future plans He has to grow this community with entrepreneurs and new Christian businesses that were in the process of being planted.

INDONESIA

From one partner: “Greetings, we are well considering the circumstances. Our business has seen a loss in revenue as I am sure all others not named Amazon or Netflix are experiencing. But we are seasonally based on the harvest. Unlike most businesses, we are not shut down. The harvest here begins in earnest at the end of the month. We are faced with the decision of how much to purchase from our farmer partners this coming harvest or whether to cut the prices we pay to them. Thank you or reaching out and keep us in your prayers”

Elsewhere in Indonesia, our second partners have taken a great hit. The leading pastor who was greatly influential in designing the vocational discipleship program passed away from COVID-19. The lack of infrastructure in this part of Indonesia made it especially hard hit by the virus. Pray for God’s will to be done through those whom He has given the vision for the discipleship/vocational training center.

Finally, our third partner has had to shift gears in becoming more of a strategic community aide in this time, so pray for business to pick up and revenue to continue so that they can continue to bless this community. From our partner: “We are doing okay, I guess. We have been closed for a while now, but able to pay all of our staff at a reduced salary while they are home, which is amazing. We are doing a lot of care initiatives during this time.”

THAILAND/BURMA BORDER

From our partner: “Thank you for the prayer and email. I've just completed a Barefoot Doctors training in Thailand in late February, early March. We have found a woman living in Chiang Mai who will make a great manager, but waiting on nagging issues with approval before moving ahead with the outright promotion of the training facility.”

TUNISIA

From our partner: “Thanks for the prayer support. We are doing remarkably well. We are fighting to stay in business, but God continues to open doors for us to interact with our Tunisian staff in very meaningful ways. Our biggest prayer request is that we could stave off those who want refunds because they chose not to participate in our on-line programs during the lockdown. We have provided high-quality online programs that took us a lot of time and money to develop. Some have opted out. Thanks again for praying!”

UNDISCLOSED REGION IN SOUTHEAST ASIA

From our partner: “The farm has continued to operate with a skeleton crew living onsite and taking care of things. Thank God that things have gone smoothly and that there haven't been any major problems for the last month. For the last few months I have been working with some local teammates to translate a cultural intelligence training. The lockdown has been a huge blessing because I’ve been able to spend 2-3 hours a day working on it. We were planning to run the training at the end of May, but it will depend on when the lockdown lifts. Please pray as we make decisions about a few different team events that are planned in the next couple months.”

VIETNAM

English classes have finally resumed, but, as with all schools, COVID-19 has taken a toll on operations and had forced a break in schooling. Pray for God’s will in the future of this program and for more to come to salvation through its efforts.
