Laos is an almost forgotten country in Southeast Asia. Still under a Marxist system, this nation is moving in the direction of neighbors like China and Vietnam. Since much of society is still based on local subsistence agriculture, providing hands-on education in such areas as land management, crops, livestock care and farm management provides a door of entry and spiritual influence in this primarily Buddhist culture.
